Research
I’m a theoretical physicist currently mainly working on particle phenomenology and the application of machine learning and quantum computing to HEP problems.
Theoretical particle physics
Currently, I’m at TU Munich working on particle phenomenology. In my PhD, I am particularly focussing on quark gluon plasma physics and the description of bottomonium suppression using an open quantum system framework. In particular, I’m using large scale simulations to make predictions for the real time non-equilibrium evolution of bottomonium in heavy-ion collisions. In a broader sense, I’m interested in real time quantum dynamics in general and new computational tools to treat them. That encompasses Hamiltonian simulations, including neural network quantum states, quantum simulations and classical computational tools like Complex Langevin.
ML4SCI & Google Summer of Code
I’m also part of the Machine Learning for Science (ML4SCI) organization, where I participated in Google Summer of Code and am a Mentor now. We are mainly working on machine learning methods for collider physics including novel generative models and tools for anomaly detection at the LHC.
Sheep & Dice
We have a little project going on over at sheepanddice.de where we build an outdoor escape game which can be played in Dortmund.
